How we hire
Initial shortlisting
We ask all applicants to submit a CV and cover letter.
Your cover letter should, in no more than two pages, explain why you want this role and how you fit all aspects of the person specification set out.
Strong applications will list each person specification bullet point related to experience, knowledge, skills and behaviours individually, and provide evidence of how they meet each of these criteria.
Shortlisting will be undertaken by the Hiring Manager and at least one other staff member. Where possible, all applications are annonymised to aid fair evaluation.
Due to capacity, we do not offer feedback to unsuccessful candidates at this stage.
Panel interview
If successful in shortlisting, you will be invited to a panel interview. The panel will consist of at least two members of staff (including the Hiring Manager) and potentially a Patient Participant & Involvement representative, depending on the role.
You will be asked a series of questions developed to further test your suitability to the role. Strong applicants will be able to demonstrate past experience alongside relevant, transferable skills, as set out in the person specification.
Depending on the role, the interview may also be preceeded by a task, set by the Hiring Manager.
Offer & reference collection
Following a comparison of scores and a discussion by the interview panel, the successful candidate will receive a formal offer of employment for the role.
This offer will be subject to satisfactory references and once these are obtained, a formal start date and contract will be sent to the successful candidate.
Feedback will be provided to unsuccesful candidates at this stage.
